DMCA Policy
We respect intellectual property rights. This page explains how copyright owners can report infringement and how we handle takedown requests.
Our Commitment to Copyright
HappyMod (https://thehappymod.org/) takes copyright and intellectual property rights seriously. We respect the creative work of authors, developers, designers, and content creators, and we expect everyone who uses our website to do the same.
We comply with the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and respond promptly to valid infringement notices from copyright owners or their authorized representatives.
If you believe that any content on our website infringes your copyright, this page will walk you through the process of submitting a notice. We’ve made the process as straightforward as possible.
What the DMCA Covers
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act is a United States copyright law that provides a process for copyright owners to request the removal of content that infringes their rights. While HappyMod is an informational website, we still maintain a clear DMCA process for any content that may raise copyright concerns.
This policy covers any content published on thehappymod.org, including but not limited to:
- Written articles and text content
- Images, graphics, and illustrations
- Screenshots and visual media
- Logos, icons, and branding elements
- Any other original creative work
How to Submit a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you are a copyright owner (or an authorized representative) and believe that content on HappyMod infringes your copyright, you can submit a DMCA takedown notice by sending an email to our designated agent.
Your notice must include the following information to be considered valid:
- Identification of the Copyrighted Work: Clearly describe the copyrighted work that you believe has been infringed. If multiple works are involved, provide a representative list of each work.
- Identification of the Infringing Content: Provide the specific URL(s) on our website where the allegedly infringing content is located. Be as precise as possible general or vague descriptions may delay the process.
- Your Contact Information: Include your full legal name, mailing address, phone number, and email address so we can contact you regarding your notice.
- Good Faith Statement: Include a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Accuracy Statement: Include a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
- Your Signature: Include your physical or electronic signature (a typed full name is acceptable as an electronic signature).
Where to Send Your Notice
Please send your complete DMCA takedown notice to our designated copyright agent at:

Subject Line: DMCA Takedown Notice
Please use “DMCA Takedown Notice” in the subject line so we can identify and prioritize your request.
How We Handle DMCA Notices
Once we receive a valid and complete DMCA takedown notice, we follow this process:
Review and Acknowledgment
We review each notice carefully to ensure it meets all the requirements outlined above. If your notice is incomplete, we may contact you to request additional information before proceeding. We aim to acknowledge receipt of valid notices within 48 hours.
Content Removal or Restriction
If the notice is valid and complete, we will take appropriate action promptly. This typically involves removing or disabling access to the identified content. We act in good faith and make removals as quickly as reasonably possible.
Notification
If applicable, we may notify the content creator or contributor whose material has been removed, informing them of the takedown and providing them with a copy of the notice (with your personal contact information redacted if requested).
Record Keeping
We maintain records of all DMCA notices received and actions taken in response. This helps us identify patterns, prevent repeat infringement, and demonstrate our commitment to copyright compliance.
Counter-Notification Process
If content you submitted or contributed to HappyMod was removed due to a DMCA takedown notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or that you have authorization to use the material, you may submit a counter-notification.
A valid counter-notification must include:
- Your full legal name, mailing address, phone number, and email address.
- Identification of the content that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the content was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which HappyMod may be found).
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original takedown notice.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Send your counter-notification to: admin@thehappymod.org
Upon receiving a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not file a court action within 10-14 business days, we may restore the removed content.
Repeat Infringement Policy
HappyMod has a policy of terminating the accounts or access of users who are repeat infringers of copyright in appropriate circumstances. If we determine that a contributor or user has repeatedly submitted infringing content, we will take reasonable steps to prevent future violations, which may include:
- Permanent removal of all content from the repeat infringer
- Blocking future submissions from the individual
- Terminating any accounts associated with the repeat infringer
We take this policy seriously as part of our commitment to respecting copyright law and maintaining a trustworthy website.
False or Misleading Notices
Warning: Submitting a false or misleading DMCA takedown notice may result in legal liability. Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly makes material misrepresentations in a takedown notice may be liable for damages, including costs and attorney’s fees. Please make sure your claim is valid before submitting a notice.
We encourage copyright owners to consult with a legal professional before sending a takedown notice if they are unsure whether their claim is valid. We are happy to answer general questions about the process at admin@thehappymod.org, though we cannot provide legal advice.
